Implicit bias is a very important topic in our current world. The impact of implicit bias becomes even more significant when people are under stress. 2020 was a year of stress unlike any most of us have experienced and certainly for a more prolonged period of time. As we begin to look at bringing children and adults back into regular group meetings in various ways (schools, churches, sports, group activity classes), it is important for us to examine our own implicit biases. Our team will assist you in doing so in a positive way that addresses not only the obvious biases that are talked about such as race and gender, but also more subtle biases that impact how we deal with each other as coworkers and with the families, adults and children we serve.

Outcomes:

  • A model of implicit bias that emphasizes that it is a reality for all people in many areas.

  • Strategies for self-examination that can help reduce the impact of implicit bias on our relationships with others and service to clients of all ages.
